What age do I need to be in order to take part?

  • You should be 19 years or older.

Would I have the opportunity of competing in swim meets?

  • Masters swimming strikes a healthy balance between fitness, fun and competition. Galas are held in Pretoria, Jhb, Germiston and Kempton Park.
  • We meet every Tuesday at DSG School for Girls at the Pool, Duxbury Road, Hatfield, same street as Hillcrest Pool going East.
  • Every first Tuesday of the month we have a bring and braai at DSG’s Pool. This is well attended and great fun is had by all.  We will be starting the 1st Tuesday September, 5.30pm, 2010
  • Updates on upcoming events and dam swims are circulated.
  • We send a large team to SA Masters Champs every year.
  • The club has been so successful, winning the cup 7 times.
  • We have over 150 members.  Members may live anywhere.
  • We have some all over SA and one member living in the UK.
  • Age categories are split into 5yr groups ranging from 19-24, 25-29, 30-34 etc.  There is no maximum age limit.

How much does membership cost?

  • Subscripton fees are R300 for the season, May-April.
    You are then a member of Coelacanth, Fina, SAMS, SSA and Tshwane Masters. You will receive newsletters and frequently get information re galas, results, records, dam swims, braais and getogethers.
